The Crawford 4 Memorial WOD 5/26/17

Hello All. As most of you have heard at this point, the Crawford family (Jimmie, Melissa, Chace, and Grant) was killed in a horrific DWI wreck on Friday evening. This is such a loss for our local community and we can already feel the gaping hole that’s been left. In our attempt to do something to ease the pain for the family, we are hosting a Fundraiser event on Friday, May 26th between the hours of 5 am and 9 pm. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the family to cover service memorial expenses or to support the the family in any other way necessary.
The fundraiser will consist of a workout, a spaghetti dinner, a silent auction, kid’s events and games, breakfast and provided by local vendors, the Gluttonous Pig will be outside, we will have a memorial tree throughout the day, on which to share memories, wishes and love (and to be given to the family afterwards) and we will conclude the day with a candlelight balloon send off and moment of silence. We are currently calling out to all members, friends and family, and community members for donations of any and all items, services, gift certificates, etc, to be auctioned off. If you have something to donate to the auction please drop it off at the gym anytime. We ask that each of you that feel the pain of this loss to our community please share the event info with all you can. Let’s make this event a huge rally of support for The Crawfords and all that loved them.
The Crawfords were not members at our gym but were strong members of our local Aztec/Farmington community and we do have many members who are feeling this loss like no other. Jimmie was a FFD firefighter for 20+ years and was currently working at Western refining. Melissa was currently a stay at home mom and school volunteer and previously worked as a teacher in the local schools. The couple were avid runners and could be spotted often running around Aztec. And if Melissa wasn’t running around Aztec with Chace (2) and Grant (4) in the stroller she was walking with her tribe of women and kids. They were part of the landscape in downtown Aztec and will be missed SO intensely.
We invite and encourage you and yours to attend or participate in this event in any form. The Workout will be tailored for all levels of athlete/non-athlete. Each athlete has the opportunity to get sponsored for completed rounds in the 16 hour period of the following WOD. If an athlete does not have sponsors, than a flat registration fee can be paid in place. We will run the WOD for anyone wishing to be guided through it at 5, 6, and 8:30 am, 12 pm, 3:15, 4:30, 5:45, and 7:00 pm; but anyone is welcome to come in and get a round completed on their own at any point throughout the day as coaches will be on site to assist as needed. Details of each component of the fundraiser are below, and I welcome any questions about the event be sent to me at or through Facebook messages.
